– reduces duplication of work and increases the number of e-commerce orders by 20 percent
Lideco is a market-leading Swedish company that manufactures and sells tool components and punching machine tools to the sheet metal working industry. In addition to the requirements to constantly streamline its own operations, Lideco’s customers expect a very high level of availability and delivery reliability.
To streamline its own work and at the same time provide customers with better service, Lideco has worked closely with Connect Companies to create a solution where the company can take full advantage of a well-collected information flow. For some time now, all of Lideco’s IT systems have been integrated with each other and the flow of information between, for example, the web shop and business systems is automatic.
Key information should not be located in your own side systems
Lideco’s operations have previously had elements of duplication where the same data is registered in both the e-commerce solution and the business system. The fact that the company both manufactures its own products and sells others also contributes to the complexity and demands for rational processes.
– Our previous solution was simply outdated and did not enable the direct connections and efficiencies we wanted to achieve. Instead of working in an environment where the different systems contain key information that is central and needs to be used in several places, we have, with Connect Companies’ help and a modern integration solution, tied together data in the different subsystems. Connect Companies’ experience with e-commerce solutions has also been an important component in this work, says Peter Nilsson, CEO of Lideco.
Rapid effect in several areas
At Lideco, the benefits have been clear. On the one hand, manual steps and the risk of double entries have been significantly reduced or completely eliminated. There has also been better organization of article data and descriptive texts. The effect is already clearly measurable with an increase in the number of orders via the web shop of approximately 20 percent.
– This initiative is completely in line with our business concept, where a crucial part is to guarantee our customers the right product at the right price at the right time. It also contributes to achieving the goal of offering the best possible working environment and working with the least possible environmental impact. By taking full advantage of the information available in our various systems, this becomes a sustainable solution in several ways. The project as such also creates interest, both internally and externally. It has probably also contributed to quick results, concludes Peter Nilsson.
With BlueIntegrator and a proprietary application, Lideco now has an integration solution that effectively holds together information from multiple sources. One of the effects is that key information is now available earlier in the different processes.
